North End Boardriders - Mentawai Islands

North end board riders surfing in the Mentawai islands onboard our recent trip with Pelagic Surf Charters. With strong south east trade winds forecast and some solid swells on the horizon we headed up to the playgrounds for the first pulse of swell. Kandui had some moments but wasn’t for the fainthearted with only a handful of good ones going through all day. Hideaways was the highlight of the trip with some dreamy conditions late afternoon. The lads sharing back to back barrels with only a handful of guys out. After the first pulse of swell we headed down to Thunders for a few days. Small swell and strong south winds seen the usual pack of charter boats anchored at the swell magnet. With a good swell forecast for the last few days we headed further south and finished with some fun 3-4 foot conditions.
