Reflection

The smell brought her back to her childhood bakery. The sea has a distinctive aroma, usually pleasant and sweet - always accompanied by the earthy mixture of sand and salt kicked up after a large swell. Her life always seemed to be directed by a monochrome masochist - telling her to go to school, travel the world, forget the grief of a lost friend... but this morning was different. She could finally see life itself - in all of its mad, technicolor beauty. Photo: Ben Ono
